The Challenges and Realities of Reaching Our Moon
First, we needed someone crazy enough to suggest leaving Earth!

On May 25, 1961, President John F. Kennedy announced before a special joint session of Congress the dramatic and ambitious goal of sending an American safely to the Moon before the end of the decade.

There the effort began. However, distance and several other factors still remained to be overcome.

Mankind had a vision and an idea! A grand one to be sure, but how to get there from here? Few greater challenges have faced the Human Race than the age old question. How do I get there from here? Well every journey of 384,405 kilometers (give or take a few) begins with a single step. So it was with the Space Program when such a thing was a valid question for ever working at all.
